Stay 2 nights at Arusha Serena lodge upon your arrival in Tanzania to ease into the safari experience and recover from the long journey. Fly to the Serengeti National Park where you will spend 5 nights inside park. Fly to Kigali (Rwanda) for an overnight stay before heading to Volcanoes National Park for your gorilla trekking. Enjoy a city tour before heading out to Volcanoes where you will spend the next two nights at Mountain Gorilla View Lodge, gorilla trek the next day. Transfer to Kigali in time for your own onward flight arrangements.

Day 1: Arrival at Kilimanjaro Airport

Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) in Tanzania, you’ll be met by a Northland Tanzania Safaris representative and transferred to Arusha Serena Lodge where you will stay for two nights. Arusha Serena Lodge is located just outside of Arusha City Center a good idea to be away from the hustle and bustle of town.

Day 2: Arusha Town Tour

After breakfast, you will have the optional to walk around lake Duluti or Canoeing at the same lake or Arusha town tour where our representative will drive you to the city center which takes 20 minutes to drive where you will explore and experience locals, later you will visit Cultural Heritage Center for hot lunch. Drive back to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 3 – 7: Serengeti National Park 

Fly to the Serengeti National Park where you’ll spend 5 nights, (2 nights in the center and 3 nights in the south/west/north depends on the great migration season). This wonderful and famous national park tells a good conservation story and offers excellent game viewing!

Day 8: Fly to Kigali Rwanda

Fly from Serengeti to Arusha and connect your flight to Kigali (Rwanda). You will be met on arrival and transferred to Kigali Serena Hotel for your overnight stay.

Day 9: Kigali Town Tour

Take a guided tour of Kigali, including a visit to the Rwandan Genocide Memorial – a “must do!”. In the afternoon drive through the mountainous region through to the north-west of Rwanda to Volcanoes National Park. You’ll stay 2 nights at Mountain Gorilla View Lodge.

Day 10: Mountain Gorilla Trekking

Set off early this morning on your gorilla trekking adventure! Upon reaching the gorillas you’ll spend an hour or so with the family before descending the mountain. Return to the lodge for a much-needed shower and some down-time.

Day 11: Fly Back Home

After a leisurely breakfast, return to Kigali and visit the Central Marketplace. From there we can transfer you to the airport for your own onward flight arrangements.

Day 2 & 3: Arusha- Tarangire National Park

We depart Arusha in the morning for Tarangire and arrive around lunchtime. Tarangire is known for the Elephant population and huge Baobab trees inside the park also sometimes tree-climbing lions can be sported. As visitors enter the gate, they pass into the lush forest; home to troops of baboons and blue monkeys. Buffaloes and hippos also lurch in the adjacent river viewpoint. The vegetation eventually merges into a flat-topped acacia woodland where, in the heat of the day, lions can be seen stretched on the branches of these trees – a habit prevalent to Tarangire Elephants and lions.

Day 4: Lake Manyara National Park

Early morning game drive comes back for breakfast, then check out and depart for Lake Manyara and arrive around lunchtime. Lake Manyara is known for its tree-climbing lions and has the most pachyderms per km sq. in Tanzania. Day 5: Mto wa Mbu Cultural Tour

After breakfast, to Mto wa Mbu village for cultural interaction where you will have a chance to experience local people, visit the banana farm, tinga tinga Artcraft,  paintings shop, local schools, local banana brewery “mbege”, local market, rice field, and finally go back for local lunch the dish that will be prepared in African-Tanzanian style. You will have an option for zipline adventure which takes about an hour, the later afternoon transfer to Ngorongoro highland for dinner, and overnight Lake Manyara is a shallow freshwater lake in Tanzania and one of the loveliest lakes in Africa which covers an area of approximately 330 square kilometers. It is famous for a good number of baboons and birdlife, also home to herbivores such as hippos, impalas, elephants, wildebeests, buffalo, warthogs, and giraffes, giant fig trees and mahogany seen in the groundwater forest immediately around the park gates, afternoon drive back to Arusha. Day 2: Tarangire National Park

After your breakfast at Mount Meru, we will pick you up and proceed to Tarangire National park. One of the largest national parks in Tanzania located in the Manyara region, this place is characterized by the large herds of elephants, tree-climbing lions, and the fascinating baobab trees also called the Tree of Life for its almost mythical powers that some cultures attach to it. This park is especially known for the Tarangire River which flows all year round and the only source of water for wild animals during dry seasons.

Day 3: Ngorongoro Crater

After breakfast, we will drive to Ngorongoro for the crater tour with picnic descent to the crater floor for the day tour. Some 20,000 mammals live in the area including about 20 black rhinoceros, making the crater the best place in Tanzania to see these amazing creatures. The crater floor also has one of the highest carnivore densities in the world. Lions, hyenas, and jackals are commonly seen, while leopards, servals, and bat-eared foxes may be seen with some luck.

Day 4 & 5: Serengeti Central (Central)

After breakfast, we will leave for Central Serengeti National Park with a picnic lunch and game drive along the way. Serengeti, among other incredible wildlife and stunning views, is famed for the annual migration of over 1.5 million wildebeest and hundred thousand of zebras, a frenzied bout of territorial conquests and mating happening from July-October. Witness an actual survival of the fittest as these animals plunge through crocodile-infested waters. The wildebeest produces more than 8,000 calves daily before the 1,000 km (600 miles) pilgrimage begins again.

Day 6 & 7: Northern Serengeti National Park

After breakfast, we will drive to Serengeti north viewing the great migration at Mara area. The key feature is the Mara River and it is not uncommon to see the herds cross the Mara River north on one day and then back south a few days later. Please take note that finding a crossing is very challenging and is sometimes a matter of luck.
There are instances where herds can be seen next to the river but then only decides to cross a couple of days later. This area is a stunning region with kopjes, woodland, riverine vegetation, and open plains, like Kenya’s Masai Mara Game Reserve.

Northern Serengeti National Park

Day 8: Flight back to Arusha

After breakfast, we will drive en route to Kogatende Airstrip where you will catch your flight to Arusha and arrive for lunch. Afterward, you will be driven to the airport for your flight back home.
